Weather Policy

We closely monitor weather conditions before and during all sessions. If conditions such as high winds, lightning, or severe weather pose a safety risk, activities will be adjusted, delayed, or canceled as necessary with prompt updates to parents.

No sail experience is required. We welcome all levels of experience!
Yes! The captain will be accompanied by a senior deckhand fully trained in the safety and operation procedures.
In short terms, Everything. New Light Sailing offers premier boats and a easy access location. We can offer on-board amenities, tailored-made curriculum, and native New York staff.
All sessions are guided by assessment of weather conditions. When necessary, instruction may shift to our onboard cabin, transition to a partner location within Chelsea Piers, or be cancelled for the day —ensuring both safety and the highest quality learning experience.
There are two primary packages to choose from. Certain discounts are available. (Priority Enrollment, Bring a Buddy, and Book the Boat)
No. Under no circumstance will swimming be allowed at New Light Sailing.
Tuition covers professional sailing instruction, a custom New York maritime curriculum, student materials, and program operations. Each student receives New Light Sailing gear, including a T-shirt, hat, water bottle, backpack, and student handbook. Summer essentials such as sunblock, water, and snacks are also provided throughout the program.
